My goal is to provide guidance and genetic improvement to the alpaca industry. 

With the economic crisis looming you may think that using elite studs in 2009 will be out of your budget.  Sire Power Alpacas has several options that will keep your breeding program on track.

1. A ten month payment plan with no set up fees or interest.  Payments can be made in a series of monthly post dated cheques from February to November inclusive when booking any Sire Power Alpacas stud.
2. Sire Power Alpacas will encourage producers to use the Drive-By breeding option.   Although this option isn’t for everyone, producers with a trailer and the confidence to assume the primary responsibility for spit checks and booking re-breeds (if necessary) can save money and still get a superior quality stud when you use any Sire Power Alpacas’ stud. We’ll monitor all aspects from breeding to pregnancy confirmation and early gestation.  Education and support will be available all the way through to birth of the cria and beyond.  Call or email me for details on this option.
3. Savings for returning customers and new clients.  Customers returning to Sire Power Alpacas will receive 15% off the first breeding they book for 2009 as well as an additional 10% off each additional breeding booked for the calendar year, up to 5 breedings.  Special consideration will be given to those purchasing more than 5 breedings in 2009.  For a limited time new clients will receive the same benefits as returning customers. 
4. On-farm assessment of females and assistance in picking studs that will improve the traits you want in your herd.  I will visit producers’ farms (within 150 miles of my farm) and help you decide on the traits necessary to improve your herd.   I will provide a form that can be used for this assessment and left with you for future use.   This will provide a starting point to select the best stud for each female and will be a great learning opportunity about all aspects of genetics and breeding for many producers (especially “newbees”).  The fee for this program will be $100 for the visit and $15 for each animal assessed. Fees are payable at the time of the assessment. If a breeding to one of Sire Power Alpacas studs is booked and used in 2009, the above fees will be reimbursed.  My plan is to help producers find the stud that is the best cross for that particular female – whether it’s one of Sire Power Alpacas’ studs or another stud.
5. Value for service.  I’m always available to talk to any alpaca breeder.  Producers who book a breeding to Sire Power Alpacas studs get one on one care and education from booking the breeding through to the birth of the cria and beyond.
6. One year live birth guarantee.  Breedings are an investment in the future genetics of your herd.  If a cria dies, the genetic gain may die with it.  It may be cost prohibitive to pay for another breeding to replace a lost cria. Sire Power Alpacas stands behind our studs and our customers.  If a cria from a Sire Power Alpacas’ stud dies before its first birthday, we will provide a free rebreeding to the same stud.  If that stud is not available, a stud of equal value will be provided for the replacement breeding (at our discretion).  Although probably not necessary, this guarantee is meant to provide peace of mind.
